We are Christine and Sean Kingsley of Butter Wynd Pottery. We run a small, part time pottery using locally dug clay, as well as encouragement and historical inspiration, from Easter Kincaple, near St Andrews. We spent several years selling our pots at Fife Farmers Markets, because the principles of local food and provenance closely matched our thinking on craft. We aren't selling at these markets just now, instead concentrating on selling online from our website.
We are interested in making our craft as local as possible and to gradually move it towards a sustainable practice. Building relationships, developing ideas with, and getting to meet people through Butter Wynd Pottery is part of our learning process. We also like good food! The local food movements have long provided an inspiration to us as to how a craft practice might work.
