About Made From Fife

This site tells the unfolding story of our plate map of Fife food, which we have called Made From Fife. We have collected clay from different places in Fife and hope to turn it into plates and cups. In most cases we are using the very earth food is grown in. In others, one clay comes from a place where there are plans to build a supermarket, while another is taken from a beach to represent the sea and the wonderful harvest that provides us.

Our plates will have a QR code on them. Users will be directed to pages that say a little about the location from which the clay came. There will also be general and seasonal food information, recipe ideas and relevant links to other sites, provided by the The Fife Diet. We would also like readers to take part in this website, by posting comments, photographs and recipe ideas associated with Fife food and clay.

The Made From Fife plates and cups will be on show in MAC, Fife Council's mobile mobile museum from September 2012. They will be part of an exhibition called "The Kingdom of If ...' which is curated by Jonathan Baxter and commissioned by Fife Contemporary Art & Craft (FCAC).
